Culture

Welcome to the Azerbaijan Center of Midwest America (ACMA), where we are dedicated to promoting and raising awareness of Azerbaijan’s rich and vibrant culture to a worldwide audience. Situated at the crossroads between the East and the West, Azerbaijan boasts a unique and diverse cultural heritage deeply rooted in its ancient history and artistic legacy, some elements of which have been recognized by UNESCO.

At ACMA, we believe in the power of culture to transcend boundaries and foster communication between nations. As part of our mission, we curate an extensive cultural program that encompasses a wide range of events, including concerts, performances, exhibitions, and book launches. Through these initiatives, we aim to showcase all facets of Azerbaijani culture, including art, architecture, literature, theatre, cinema, dance, and music.

Our cultural events calendar celebrates Azerbaijani key holidays, offering a glimpse into the rich traditions and customs of the country. These events not only present Azerbaijani culture to audiences in the United States but also create opportunities for American artists to engage in cultural exchange projects in Azerbaijan. One of our most memorable cultural events was the Annual Skokie Cultural Festival, held in Skokie Park in Chicago, IL. This festival attracted an audience of over 1000 people and showcased the culture of more than 30 countries, including Azerbaijan.

ACMA invites individuals with a passion for Azerbaijani culture to join us in generating ideas that will promote this rich and distinctive heritage on an international level. We firmly believe that culture plays a vital role in defining a country and understanding its people, while also serving as a powerful tool for fostering communication and building bridges between nations.

Join us at ACMA as we celebrate and share the vibrant culture of Azerbaijan with the world. Together, let’s create a global platform that not only appreciates and preserves cultural heritage but also fosters meaningful connections and understanding among diverse communities.
