ACMA Participates in Nowruz Celebration at Northwestern University Featuring Azerbaijani National Dance

CHICAGO, IL – The Azerbaijan Center of Midwest America (ACMA) is proud to participate in the Nowruz celebration hosted by Northwestern University on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Seabury Room 140, 2122 Sheridan Road.

This cultural event, organized by Northwestern University’s Slavic Languages and Literatures, Program in Middle East and North African Languages, and the International and Area Studies South Asia Research Forum, celebrates the Persian and Central Asian New Year. It features a variety of cultural elements, including the traditional Haft Sin table, Persian cuisine, and interactive activities like egg painting.

As part of the program, young Azerbaijani girls will proudly perform traditional Azerbaijani national dances, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Azerbaijan. ACMA is honored to support and attend this celebration, which highlights the shared values and vibrant traditions of the Central Asian and Middle Eastern communities.

Nowruz marks a time of renewal, unity, and celebration across many cultures, and ACMA is pleased to join in fostering cross-cultural understanding and community engagement at this festive event.
