On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, I send you my best wishes! Eid Mubarak!!!
Little bit information about this day:
It is celebrated on the final culmination of an annual pilgrimage to Mecca called Hajj which Muslims devotees are required to embark on once in their lives. Bakrid is celebrated on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. Eid-ul-Adha is also known as Bakrid or Sacrifice Feast As this day remembers Prophets Ibrahim devotion and faith in Almighty Allah. And how so? Once God asked Prophet Ibrahim to prove his love and faith and sacrifice his most prized possession and prophet decided to sacrifice his only dear son to prove his love. When Prophet Ibrahim was about to kill his son, God sent his angel Jibra’il (Gabriel) to replace the son with a goat. And so, since that day Bakra Eid is celebrated to remember Prophet Ibrahim’s faith in God.
Eid Ul Adha is typically celebrated for 3 days. The day begins with Muslims getting themselves ready in new clothes for prayers and leave for local mosques to pray for peace prosperity and acceptance of sacrifices. After heading back home, people greet each other by saying “Eid Mubarak” and the festival is celebrated by sacrificing goat, camels, or cows; it is divided into portions which are then given to relatives, friends, and neighbors; then to the poor and needy; rest of the portion is given to the family.
