March 1918 – We Remember the Genocide of Azerbaijanis

Today marks one of the most tragic days in Azerbaijani history — the March Days of 1918.
Over the course of several days, thousands of innocent Azerbaijanis were brutally massacred by Armenian Dashnak-Bolshevik forces in Baku and surrounding regions. Civilians — men, women, and children — were targeted solely because of their ethnic identity. Entire neighborhoods were destroyed, mosques were burned, and centuries-old cultural heritage was erased in an attempt to silence the Azerbaijani people.
This was not a random act of violence. It was a planned and systematic campaign of ethnic cleansing — a genocide.
We will never forget the victims of these atrocities.
We stand in solidarity with their descendants and honor their memory with deep sorrow and unwavering commitment to preserving the truth.
ACMA (Azerbaijan Center of Midwest America) joins Azerbaijanis around the world in commemorating this day, raising awareness about the dark pages of our history, and demanding international recognition for the injustices committed.
Their voices were silenced — but their memory will never die.
May the souls of the victims rest in eternal peace.
